What the tool shows
IP History lists the IPv4 (A) and IPv6 (AAAA) addresses recorded for a domain. A search returns up to 300 records from Profundis, ordered by supplied dates, newest first, grouped by address. Each address shows the dates of its records and the network (ASN) announcing it when the data was retrieved. What an IP history shows explains how to read a result page.
Where the data comes from
The DNS records come from Profundis, which collects them from public sources. Profundis looks up the network name and ASN of each address when it returns the records, and each result page shows that retrieval date. For domains listed in Browse, this site stores the records and shows that copy until it retrieves them again. Locations come from the GeoLite2 City database by MaxMind, included with this site; they show where each address is located today, not where it was when recorded.
Searches and privacy
Each search passes a Cloudflare Turnstile check and a per-IP rate limit before the domain name is sent to Profundis. Profundis receives the domain only, not your IP address. Cloudflare, which serves this site and runs the Turnstile check, receives your IP address, and the site's logs record it with the domains you search.
